As a registered dietitian, I often recommend smoothies as a quick way to add more fruits, vegetables, and protein to your day. Making them from scratch can be time-consuming or expensive, which is why smoothie subscription services can be a real solution.
Over the past six years, I’ve tested meal and smoothie delivery services as Director of the Good Housekeeping Nutrition & Fitness Lab, and having pre-portioned ingredients or ready-made smoothies on hand makes it much easier to stick with healthy habits.
When I evaluate these services, I look for options that include a good mix of fruits, leafy greens, and protein. Adding a scoop of protein powder is an easy way to make a smoothie more filling if you need it. For busy days, having these convenient options ready to go can make a real difference in getting nutrients consistently. After testing 12 different options, these are the smoothie delivery services I consistently recommend for their flavor, variety, and nutritional quality.
Revive Superfoods
HOW IT WORKS: Solely dedicated to smoothies and açai bowls, Revive Superfoods offers a variety of fruit- and veggie-forward blends crafted by chefs for delicious and nutritious flavor combinations. Smoothies come frozen in pre-portioned cups. Simply add a liquid of your choice and blend in your household blender. The cups are reusable and include a slot for a straw, making them perfect for sipping on the go. Smoothie categories include Protein, GLP-1 Friendly, Wellness and more.
WHY WE LIKE IT: I love that Revive delivers smoothie blends that taste like they came from a smoothie shop but at a fraction of the price. The ingredients are flash-frozen at peak ripeness, so we get maximum nutrients and flavor in every cup. The Protein blends really stood out to me as a dietitian, with up to 34 grams of protein per serving, which is rare for a smoothie subscription. Overall, I found the blends to be convenient, nutrient-packed, and genuinely satisfying.
TAKE NOTE: The smoothies are not fully premade and do require blending, which has its pros and cons. But the reusable cup is convenient and well designed, making the process simple and portable. Smoothies start at $8.99 per serving, but the price drops to $6.99 when you order a larger box, making it more affordable if you plan to stock up.
REVIVE SUPERFOODS
Kencko
HOW IT WORKS: Kencko, which means “healthy” in Japanese, embodies the Certified B Corp’s mission to make nutrition simple and accessible. The brand flash-freezes organic, non-GMO produce at peak ripeness, then gently dries it at low temperatures to create shelf-stable smoothie packets.
Choose from a variety of flavors, each made with just fruits, vegetables, seeds, and spices. To prepare, pour your liquid of choice into Kencko’s shaker bottle or a household glass, add the smoothie packet, and shake or stir vigorously for a few seconds until fully combined.
WHY WE LIKE IT: The fact that each Kencko smoothie contains 2.5 servings of freeze-dried organic fruits and vegetables, with no fillers or additives impressed me as a nutrition professional. The slow-drying process removes water but preserves fiber, macronutrients, and most vitamins and minerals, keeping the packets nutrient-dense.
I especially liked their protein smoothie packs, which offer a satisfying 13-ounce serving with 11 grams of plant-based protein. They mix easily in a shaker or blender, making them perfect for busy mornings or post-workout fuel. Some favorite flavors included Purples, Peaches, Reds, and Pinks.
TAKE NOTE: At about 80 calories per packet, these smoothies are more of a snack than a meal replacement. Massaging the packet before adding liquid can help reduce clumps, too. But at under $3 per packet, Kencko is one of the most affordable and portable smoothie options available, making it easy to enjoy a nutrient-packed drink anywhere.

Splendid Spoon
HOW IT WORKS: One of my favorite plant-based meal delivery services, Splendid Spoon offers more than 50 ready-to-eat options, including smoothies, soups, grain bowls, noodle bowls, and more. Everything on the menu is 100% plant-based and free from gluten, dairy, and artificial sugars.
Crafted by chefs and registered dietitians, Splendid Spoon’s menu includes a robust selection of premade smoothies that are both vegan and nutrient-rich. There are 17 smoothie flavors to choose from, such as Chocolate Cherry, Raspberry Cacao, Power Greens, and Blue Majik. Cacao Almond was a standout favorite. The brand also offers immune-supporting shots and a variety of plant-powered juices.
WHY WE LIKE IT: The premade smoothies are extremely convenient and consistently fresh-tasting. The flavor combinations feel thoughtful and creative, incorporating ingredients I might not typically use at home. I also appreciate that the smoothies and wellness shots are high-pressure processed, a cold-pressure method that helps eliminate harmful pathogens while preserving the nutritional quality of the raw ingredients.
TAKE NOTE: I noticed that some smoothies are lower in protein compared to other services, so you may want to pair them with a protein-rich snack or meal. It’s also worth noting that some bottles contain multiple servings, which can feel a bit tricky if you’re sipping by yourself but useful if you’re splitting them up.

Daily Harvest
HOW IT WORKS: Daily Harvest offers a wide selection of nutrient-dense, vegan smoothies, along with oat bowls and other breakfast-forward options. Choose from 13 flavors, ranging from Vanilla Bean Protein made with ingredients like organic chickpeas and dates, to Ginger + Greens.
The smoothies arrive frozen in pre-measured cups, which you add to your household blender along with a liquid of choice and blend until smooth. Once blended, the smoothie can be poured into your own cup or enjoyed straight from the original container, which includes a slot for a straw.
WHY WE LIKE IT: The flavor combinations immediately stood out during testing. The blends feel creative and thoughtfully formulated, featuring nutritionally rich ingredients like flaxseed, dragon fruit, cashews, spirulina, cacao, and maca. Mint + Cacao was on repeat for me during pregnancy, I couldn’t get enough of it and knew it was nourishing me and my baby.
The ingredients are flash-frozen at peak ripeness, which noticeably enhances both flavor and overall quality. During taste tests, many smoothies were described as refreshing and high-quality. One tester even repurposed the blended smoothies into ice pops as a fun summer option for kids.
TAKE NOTE: These smoothies do require a blender, which adds an extra step. The menu previously included a broader range of savory items like flatbreads and pastas, making it easier to rely on Daily Harvest throughout the day (though a subscription is no longer required). The current focus leans more toward smoothies and oat bowls, making it best suited for lighter breakfasts or snacks.

Smoothie Box
HOW IT WORKS: Designed with smoothie lovers in mind, this subscription service removes the guesswork from prep, making it easy to enjoy nutritionally balanced, great-tasting smoothies in just minutes. You start by choosing from eight core blends, including Antioxidant Boost, Berrylicious Acai, Strawnana Power, and more.
Optional boosters are available to customize each smoothie, such as grass-fed collagen, whey protein, vegan protein powder, and greens powder. The smoothies arrive frozen in pouches with one to two servings each depending on how much liquid you decide to add. To prepare, add the contents to a blender with a liquid of choice and blend until smooth.
WHY WE LIKE IT: Because the ingredients are flash-frozen, both flavor and nutrients are preserved from farm to freezer. I was especially impressed by the quality of the organic blends. The Berry flavor stood out, combining a mix of berries with cauliflower and sweet potato for a produce-packed base, plus raw hemp seeds for a boost of essential fatty acids. The smoothies felt thoughtfully balanced and surprisingly satisfying.
TAKE NOTE: While many of the ingredients are organic and the blends are nutritionally well rounded, you’ll need a blender which is an additional step. You’ll also need to commit to purchasing at least 10 packs, which is a steep upfront cost.

Frozen Garden
HOW IT WORKS: Frozen Garden offers premade frozen smoothie blends that can be ready in about a minute. In addition to smoothies, the brand also sells overnight oats, garden bowls, and other breakfast-friendly options. Choose from more than 20 flavors made with 100% whole fruits, vegetables, seeds, and spices. Standout options included the Green Protein smoothie and the Rollin’ Oats blend. To prepare, add the frozen ingredients to a blender with your chosen liquid and blend until smooth.
WHY WE LIKE IT: The blends are made without added sugars and rely on simple, wholesome ingredients, which really stood out during testing. The smoothies are flash-frozen at peak ripeness, helping preserve both nutrients and flavor. I also appreciated the wide range of flavors available, as well as the ability to filter products for different health benefits.
TAKE NOTE: Some flavors are lower in protein compared to other services, which means certain blends may not be as filling on their own. Bundles are available, and you’ll save an additional 15% with a subscription. And of course, like many other on our list this one requires a blender which does take some additional time to prepare.
The Frozen Garden
Factor
HOW IT WORKS: One of my favorite prepared meal delivery services, Factor caters to carb-conscious eaters with its dietitian-designed fresh meals and add-ons. Choose from a very large, rotating menu of fully prepared meals each week, and then purchase smoothies as an add-on. Factor’s premade smoothie variety pack contains two smoothies each of the strawberry banana, tropical fruit and mango flavors, and the brand also offers a ready-to-blend smoothie line made with high-quality ingredients and tropical flavors.
WHY WE LIKE IT:While Factor is not a smoothie-focused service, having the option to add smoothies to a regular meal delivery order is a nice bonus. I found the smoothies surprisingly flavorful, with coconut milk providing a creamy, plant-based base. I also like that they offer both ready-to-drink smoothies and frozen, ready-to-blend options, which keeps things interesting and never boring. This echoes the variety of their full menu too, which is one of the main reasons I stuck with Factor for a full year.
TAKE NOTE: The smoothies are sweetened with monk fruit, which may not appeal to everyone. And although they are lower in protein than some other options, they work well as a grab-and-go snack rather than a full meal. That said, testers appreciated that the blends are relatively low in sugar and carbohydrates.

Bumpin Blends
HOW IT WORKS: Bumpin Blends was created by a dietitian with the goal of making nutrition feel approachable for women at every stage of life. Each packet comes with six frozen smoothie cubes made from organic, whole-food ingredients. Everything is pre-portioned, so I can easily blend a 16-ounce smoothie or split it into two 8-ounce servings. With more than 20 flavors to choose from, you can build a custom bundle or go with the “One Time Mom Bundle,” which includes up to 28 blends.
WHY WE LIKE IT: What really stands out to me is that there are no added sugars, artificial flavors, or preservatives. The blends are designed to support specific wellness goals like boosting energy, improving mood, and supporting skin health. I also love that there’s access to a 24/7 hotline for personalized tips and advice from a dietitian. Cinnamon Chai and Green Mango were favorites. Functional add-ins like maca root and ginger are thoughtfully included to support energy, digestion, and skin health.
TAKE NOTE: You can filter for dietary needs, like vegan or nut-free, and by health goals such as digestion or inflammation, which makes the experience feel more personalized. That said, our dietitians did note that some flavors are lower in protein compared to other smoothie services. And the order minimum is 10 smoothies which is still quite an investment.

What to look for when selecting the best smoothie subscription
Choosing the right smoothie service can feel a little overwhelming with so many options out there, but focusing on what truly fits your lifestyle can make the decision a lot easier. Here’s a guide to help you pick a service that matches your needs, tastes, and budget.
✔️ Type: Do you want ready-to-drink, bottled smoothies, frozen pouches that you blend at home, or powdered mixes you can whisk into a quick drink? Think about what’s easiest for your routine.
✔️ Dietary preferences: Many services cover vegan or gluten-free options, but if you follow a low-carb, high-protein, or other special diet, make sure the options align. Premade smoothies are convenient but don’t allow customization, whereas ones that you blend yourself give you the option to add a scoop of protein powder or other extras to meet your nutritional needs.
✔️ Servings: Are you blending for one or feeding the whole family? Some brands offer single-serving pouches, while others have family-sized packs for larger batches.
✔️ Cost: Smoothie subscriptions are usually cheaper than grabbing one at a café, but sometimes pricier than buying ingredients yourself. Look for a balance that works for you. Many services sweeten the deal with first-order discounts, referral perks, or special deals for teachers, first responders, and more.
✔️ Delivery range: Make sure they deliver to your area! Most services offer free shipping above a minimum order, so check the fine print to avoid surprises.

What are the health benefits of smoothies?
Smoothies aren’t just tasty. They’re a simple, convenient way to boost your daily intake of fruits and vegetables while packing in a variety of nutrients. From supporting heart health to keeping you hydrated, incorporating smoothies into your routine can be both delicious and beneficial.
Boost your produce intake: Smoothies make it easy to get more fruits and vegetables each day and help you reach your daily produce goals.
Support heart health: Research shows that a plant-based diet can reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease.
Packed with nutrients: Fruits and vegetables provide a wealth of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, making smoothies nutrient-dense.
Stay hydrated: Since produce is largely made up of water, smoothies can help keep you refreshed and hydrated throughout the day.

Is it okay to have a smoothie every day?
This ultimately depends on what is in your smoothie. Aim for blends that include protein and plenty of fruits and vegetables, while keeping added sugars low. If your smoothie is light on protein, you can easily boost it with ingredients like Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, hemp seeds, or your favorite protein powder. Daily smoothies can be a convenient way to pack in nutrients, stay hydrated, and support a balanced diet.

How can I make my smoothie more filling?
If your smoothie isn’t keeping you full, it’s usually a sign that it’s missing one or more key nutrients, like protein, fiber, or healthy fats. Most fruit-only blends are delicious but can leave you hungry soon after. To make your smoothie more satisfying:
Add protein: Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, tofu, or protein powder help slow digestion and keep hunger at bay.
Include healthy fats: A spoonful of nut butter, avocado, chia seeds, or flaxseed adds staying power.
Boost fiber: Oats, leafy greens, berries, or ground flax help keep you full longer.
Balance your carbs: Pair fruit with protein, fat, and fiber to prevent energy crashes and mid-morning cravings.
By including these components, your smoothie can go from a light snack to a balanced, filling meal that fuels your day.
