Go vegan for your health | Opinion

by vegabytes

This February, American Heart Month, everyone should eat vegan foods to ward off cardiovascular disease and other illnesses. Meat, eggs, dairy, and other animal-based foods are high in saturated fat and cholesterol, and contribute to obesity, diabetes, and cancer, as well as heart disease and strokes. It’s healthiest to eat fruits, vegetables, legumes, whole grains, and other wholesome plant foods, which are cholesterol-free, generally low in fat, and rich in fiber.

So, this February, when you see heart-shaped candy boxes in stores, consider it a reminder to consume heart-healthy vegan foods and drinks. Visit PETA.org for more information and a free vegan starter kit.
